Panel discussion with TIL (Tromsø Football Club) and Regenbogenadler Club (Queer fan club of the German football club Eintracht).
Øyvind Alapnes, CEO of Tromsø Football Club, Morten Killingenberg, founder of Forza Tromsø and Ruben Yttergård Jenssen, Captain of TIL, meets members of Regenbogenadler Club, Thomas Anthes, Stefan Spengler and Patricia Illian. Regenbogenadler is a queer fan club for the German football club Eintracht. The conversation is moderated by Michael Wold, co-chair of the board of Arctic Pride.
They will talk about the ups and downs in football. Why football fans are important, and what inclusive measures that can be taken to include all kinds of fans. Regenbogenadler will talk about their club and what they have achieved and what TIL can learn from them. How can we use football to unite us all? Can it?
The Regenbogenadler club, the Rainbow Eagles, celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2023. They have over 70 members. The club's activities include regular get-togethers, meetings before home matches and, of course, content-related work on anti-discrimination issues, education and public relations. In addition, regular participation in the Frankfurt Pride with its own float plays a special role in the club's public image and content-related work.
Forza Tromsø was also founded in 2013. It was founded to gather the younger TIL supporters, and has the last few years experienced a massive growth of members, making it the largest fan club in Tromsø. Forza has been celebrated for their inclusion and engagement in the local society.
Tromsø Football Club is the northernmost professional football club in the world. The club was founded in 1920.
Surrounded by the arctic nature and its beautiful scenery, Romssa Arena offers a unique experience to share with your friends and family. Located in the heart of Tromsø, the stadium is easily accessible by foot. Football combined with fresh air, engagement of the local fans and the smell of the world’s best Mydland sausage is the perfect recipe for a successful evening.
Social work is an important part of the TIL’s identity, and building a strong local community is one of our missions. Through our work we want to get more people into school, work, and activities, and one of the strongest tools we have is to create social arenas where people can meet and share their thoughts and experiences. They want to arrange for places where people can build confidence and resilience to for example search for a job or getting back the excitement of going to school. As they say; If we can make that happen, then we succeed, as a club, but also as a city. Our street team is a good example of that with players who have gotten into work.
